OKAY, I CAN DIE HAPPY NOW.

The assignment was to record someone reciting a haiku, and animate the face we'd rotated lipsynching it. I chose the haiku I have on a tee-shirt I bought on Threadless [link] :

Haikus are easy
But sometimes they don't make sense
Refrigerator

Then the teacher's like, "Okay, so all you have to do is draw the face with at least three different types of mouths, and then you synchronize them with the speech. If you're ambitious, you can in-between it."

I was like "WHAAAAAT?" No in-betweens obligatory? That's the stupidest animation you could do---it takes about five minutes and ends up being choppy and ugly anyway. I decided to go head-on and animate the lips and the acting, because last time I'd done it, in college, it was a teamwork assignment and it ended up kinda crappy and I wanted to see if I could really do it. Halfway through someone told me I was doing a second year assignment... oops, haha.

There's some errors here and there, and this is a serious case of "ugly in-betweening"---you know how you can pull it off if your keys look great but your in-betweens kinda suck... you can check it out frame-by-frame if you really want to sue me. I did this rather quickly, under fifteen hours I guess, but in three days. (I always manage to finish my homework before the weekend, yay!) The acting/timing could have been a bit better, and the lipsynch when he says "refrigerator" was just evil (and the whole thing is almost all the time single-framed), but I'm really proud of it at least... something I'll want to show.
