Well, here is my newborn baby Lucien in all of his rock 'n roll glory. Again, I reduced the file size a lot to make it downloadable, so the image is GREATLY suffering from the compression (I'm sorry it turned out so pale, the real thing is really crisp and clear, I swear). The sound is also better on the real thing.
THIS WAS SHOT ON FILM. There is nothing digital in front of your eyes. It was coloured with col-erase pencils (erasable colouring pencils), then shot with a super duper old Oxberry camera. Only the sound was added digitally, because working on mag was clearly a waste of time and money.
Consequently, because it was to be analog, there turned out to be a lot of technical constraints. Having a background meant either drawing it on each frame or working with cels, which was too long for the time we had to do it (it was a bit unrealistic: 3 months to do the whole thing, with other classes going on at the same time), so I decided there'd be none. Also, I had to make sure all my sheets were super clean because rips or folds wouldn't be edited out afterwards. So basically, I animated the whole thing rough, tested it, then I cleaned it without flipping or testing if my clean was right or not. There are a few things that aren't perfect in it, but they're not too big, and hopefully you won't notice... I turned off the critics because I worked my arse off and I don't want to hear anybody complaining. Hahah.
...after all, it IS my first year film at university. >D
My other film, Fou tu, can be seen here [link] for those who haven't seen it yet.
ENJOY!

The original film is SO much clearer than anything you might've seen up to now... it was shot on film, the image is clean and crisp and contrasted... everywhere it's paler, blurrier...
