+ LA PETITE REVOLUTION +

It's finally out: my novella La petite révolution (The Small Revolution) is now available on Lulu, both in paperback and downloadable .pdf versions! It took me quite a few months of playing around with its interior design and a couple of scrap copies to learn from my mistakes (one copy had cut the page numbers, the other had mysterious blank pages spread throughout), but now it looks nice and spiffy and perfect.

La petite révolution is a novella I wrote for a Literature class I had last year; it's the longest fiction I've ever written and finished. I've come up with longer stories before, but never did I put the finishing period at the end of one. It's a first for me!

Unfortunately, it's all in French and I won't be translating it as I fear most of its essence will be lost in translation. I know a lot of people here don't speak French, but some of you do, or maybe some of you will learn it eventually, haha... it'd be neat to start off with this I guess <3

Here's an excerpt, for those who are still reading this and are interested:

Je m’appelle Florence. Je vais mourir bientôt.
Je sais ce que vous allez penser: nous venons tout juste de faire connaissance, et déjà je vous annonce solennellement mon grand depart. Faut pas vous en faire, je sais parfaitement où je m’en vais — d’habitude, les gens ont tendance à croire que les enfants ignorent tout de la mort, mais non, détrompez-vous. On m’a tout appris. C’est que, voyez-vous, il n’y a que moi qui puisse faire une différence, et j’ai choisi de la faire, pour le bien des autres enfants, pour qu’ils aient plus de chance que moi. Même si c’est juste un peu, ce sera toujours mieux que rien du tout.
J’ose espérer.
