Moscow in Context 3 by boum Moscow in Context 3 by boum
This is everyone's favourite shot composition-wise... I struggled with the camera to take that one, too.

I worked on the sound yesterday, and it's terrific so far! I'm happy with the results!

superbe, ma préféré des trois.

à bien y penser, le personnage et le paquet me font penser à une animation sur le DVD de CARIBOU, pour la chanson "Pelican Narrows" si je ne m'abuse...

Ooh! just prior to this, was there a zoom out to the package? Then after was there a focusing of the camera on the package so the character (who's name escapes me) would be blurry?

Because that is what I am picturing....

Moscow looks spelndiferous by the way. Makes me want to visit...

Ohhh, you mean a rack focus? Nah, I couldn't do it with the camera. It would have been better, but it works anyway. :)

I love how you did the whole blurr effect on it. Those scenes are always fun.

O.o Did you have any trouble maintaining the focus?

I could "lock" the focus once it was set, so it wouldn't change even if I kept stepping in front of the camera to move things around. But sometimes it just wouldn't focus right... it kept focusing on the set behind the character. I couldn't play with the aperture and speed too much, because it'd change the overall colours and I wanted my film to be coherent in its lighting :/

I know the whole ZOMG CG!!! thing is waaay overdone, but have you thought about using a program like After Effects to "fake" the focal length?

Come to think of it, that's probably a hell of a lot more hassle than flogging the camera until it performs to expectations!

I don't know how to handle After Effects so I used the camera instead :B

I realized right after I typed it that to get maybe that sort of thing to work in AE would take an absolutely massive amount of work. Camera hassle is preferable!
