This is a case of "rescue of a drawing which is on the verge of being abandoned but ends up twice as good as your usual drawings once finished". Quite strangely it happens fairly often to me. A boring drawing which ends up cool tweaked up. Le sigh.

'Tis Samiko, an original character. I was actually supposed to draw a background up there, with a crowd going against her, but I kinda went like "BLAAARG PEOPLE" and gave it up. I picked it up tonight and thought it was sad because she looked nice, so I tried saving her, got a stock picture from =darkdoomer's stock account ( ~brujo ), played with it, and voila. A gloomy green picture like I once used to make so often! Ah the good days.

Looks strangely like it's out from a Gorillaz clip. Mmm.

Since this drawing gathers so much attention, I decided I'd make it part of the series of characters from my old-story-currently-on-hiatus, Jinx. So a geeky character bio ensues.

Samiko Faye, the Cynical. Orphaned when very young but adopted by two loveable parents originating from France, which were both murdered a few years later, she learned that life doesn't let it easy on you. She became a very pessismistic, sarcastic and somewhat arrogant young woman, strongly believing that being tough (contrasting with her skinny figure) was the only way she'd get through life. Consequently, she's always a little morose and hard to comprehend, dragging dark philosophies about the meaning of life versus death, or the futility of it all.
