Meet my newest born: Stanislav. He's to be the star of my next film, which I'll be doing in winter 2008, trying out something new I'll be learning: animating with puppets.

It scares the hell outta me. Yessss.

I kept his design very simple so I can easily build a puppet, since modeling/building stuff is far from being my forte and I'm expecting it to be really hard. I think he's a real cutie, though. I'm in love with him <3 He's the only thing which keeps me drawing these days. The colours are not final though, and his legs will probably have to change.

The funny thing, though, is that although I know that my film's going to happen in Russia, at the end of the 19th/beginning of the 20th century, and that it involves a very melancholic Stanislav finding a lost parcel with no name on it, I have ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA what happens. Nothing. Niet. Nada. Rien.

So, basically... I need your help.

If the character inspires you, or you have an idea what's in the parcel (if he ends up opening it), etc., please tell me... I'm in need of good ideas. I've been searching for a while now, and I have yet to be enlightened. If I take your idea, you'll obviously be credited for it in my film. Thanks a lot!

He will always be special.;)

How about 1/2 scale? Or consecutively smaller Stanislavs inside each other like russian dolls?
Ugh, I'm corrupting him w/ my capitalistic cravings! :P How inappropriate!

It could totally work. Hmmm...
Gotta get some blank russian dolls and some paint...

I also like his nutcracker-ish look.
The mass market potential is endless...

*sigh* man, I gotta get out of product design!
Poor Stanislav, will be lining giftshop shelves at Epcot.

Hm, he could find it and have day dreams of all the things that could be inside, and then it cuts away with him finally opening it and looking inside.

Or perhaps it could contain a portal to a fantasy world and he'd fall in. XD \

Class!
Beautiful design and an exciting prospect. I can't wait to see it made.
If it was mine, there'd be a music box in the box. Not the ones with a ballerina, just literally a wee box with a crank like this [link]

You should research and study plushies and plushy tutorials to make good clothes. They seem pretty crucial to this guy.
:iconelbooga: would know how to help.
