This one was pretty hard to do. Not only for the character---she's the character I don't want to give up on despite the fact she's the typical anime catgirl---but also for the background, I just couldn't find the right photo.

Khadjin, the tigerwoman. I always have fun drawing her because she's always so much of a challenge. I'm trying very hard to save her from her deep Japanese roots, to make her more tiger than woman, but also trying to keep her true to her "origins". This drawing up there is actually my second try. The first one had an utterly bizarre face (human eyes and face but some kind of cat muzzle... it didn't work very well). I decided I didn't really know what kind of face I wanted for her, so I cheated and drew her seen from the back. I realized I deeply loved drawing butt cheeks. Even hairy ones.

...That sounded very gross.

Anyway, I hope she looks fine despite the weirdass anatomy I improvised for her. I wanted her to be muscle-bulky, and the huge paws (and feet but I unfortunately couldn't fit them into the picture) make her less "generic anthro"... I know for sure I wouldn't want that paw to hit me.

Khadjin, the Curious. A strong tigerwoman with a tender heart, who fears the world she lives in because of the Drainer threat. She believes the humans are the solution to her problems, and therefore sneaks in the city. Although her language is very primitive, she's a quick learner and has more will than any other to adapt and fit in. Being "normal" is to her a very important aspect of her life, but it's hard to achieve when you're virtually the only one of your kin to set foot on the human world.

You make it sound like a bad thing!
Anyway, I love the picture. I like teh way you drew the pose and the tiger stripes. Simple, yet efficient.

le résultat est nettement mieux que ce que j'aurrais imginé, given l'explication d'une femme chat contemplative devant la brousse au soleil couchant. étonnament ce n'est pas trop quétaine.
(je vais être bitch un peu préparre-toi.)
j'aime pas trop la phisionnomie, je trouve que les proportions sont weird. comme l'épaule gauche un peu grosse, ou la fesse proche de nous comme trop haute...mais encore là, quand il est question de proportions (rappellons-nous un certain dessin appellé neuvième avenue) ce qui regarde bizzare à quelqu'un est parfois vraiment voulu et satifaisant pour l'artiste.

l'intégration avec le background est vraiment bien encore. je crois que cette série t'aura apporté ça entre autre.
je trouve vraiment que la fille me ressemble. ça le coté tigre...mais la face je veux dire. (j'imagine que c'est mon coté manga...)

bah pas tellement. anyway, on se voit jamais vraiment bien, non?
finalement j'y ai repensé et je ne suis pas sure pour vendredi. je ne voudrais pas avoir l'impression d'aller peinturer une demi heure pour aller à la job toute crottée. j'aimerais tellement mieux passer une vrai grosse journée à faire ça pour vrai, habillée tout croche.
je t'appelle ou vice-versa comme prévu, mais je crois qu'on remmettra ça. j'espère que t'es pas déçue. au moins martin y va l'après-midi. xx

Mais non j'suis pas déçue! Je comprends :) C'est pas grave, j'vais me mettre de la musique dans le (pas de) tapis pis j,vais travailler fort... on se reprendra, anyway ça sera pas fini même une fois que je serai revenue de NY...
