Hey everyone! Wow, I'm so sorry I haven't updated here in a while. I haven't exactly drawn anything else than comics lately, and I upload all those here or on my Tumblr. The truth is, my routine has been all out of whack recently — for one good reason: I'm pregnant! The baby should be coming in May, so it's coming pretty soon! Crazy thing.

So yeah. Don't expect much activity from me, but just know I'm still lurking.

Hi folks! As some of you may know, I'm going through financial hardships at the moment — to put it shortly, freelancing hasn't been very nice to me for the past few months and all the contracts I'd been promised were cancelled at the last minute. I'm doing whatever I can to find more freelancing opportunities, and if the situation hasn't improved in February, I'll give up freelancing and look for steady jobs, hoping I can find one... :C

Anyway, in the meantime, I'd like to put my drawing skills to good use and take commissions! I'm pretty versatile and besides, I need the practice. Please consider encouraging me with one of the following options!

A. Cartoony version of one character in greyscale: $10 CAD
Drawn in my Boumeries style and digitally shaded. (Doesn't have to be wearing a potato suit...)
Example:

B. Sketch of one character + grey shading: $20 CAD
Sketched on paper (my sketches are usually very clean), scanned and digitally shaded.
Examples:

C. Cartoony version of one character in greyscale + patterned background: $30 CAD
Drawn on 6"x9" bristol cardboard in my Boumeries style and coloured with grey markers and brush pens. I then send you the original!
Example:

D. Cartoony version of one character + digital colours: $40 CAD
Inked traditionally or digitally and colours applied digitally.
Examples:

E. One character digitally inked + coloured: $80 CAD
With a filler in the background.
Examples:

F. One character digitally inked + no outlines: $100 CAD
With a simple background.
Example:

G. Cartoony, kids-style traditional painting: $120 CAD
Drawn on 6"x9" bristol cardboard, inked, coloured with Ecoline ink, colouring pencils and poster paint. I then send you the original!
Examples:

H. One character in a scene + digital colours: $150 CAD
Backgrounds are semi-detailed. I like the character to be in the spotlight!
Examples:

Payments accepted through Paypal only.

For illustrations of more than one character, we'll have to discuss things together.  If you're interested, please note me with your email or send an email directly to boum@boumerie.com with your choice of illustration and all the information needed, and once we've settled on a price I will invoice you personally through Paypal. I've had bad experiences in the past so I'm going to ask you to pay upfront and not after the work is done, I'm sorry. I will get the work done. I am a professional artist, after all.
If those are too pricey for you or nothing interests you but you still want to encourage me, remember that I have a comic book for sale at approximately $10 and original comics to give away in exchange for donations of $5 or more. You guys, I have something to ask you and I don't really like asking it, but here goes: I'm in a very huge down money-wise right now. I was supposed to be working on a big contract in October, which got pushed to November, which then got cancelled. I had other work opportunities which also got nuked before I could even start. I've already spent long hours spanned on multiple days trying to find work, but freelance work isn't the easiest thing to find. Bottom line is, I am very, very broke.

What I'm saying is this: if you enjoy my webcomic Boumeries, if you've been enjoying it for a while, please consider donating by clicking on the yellow "Donate" button on the right of the site. For any donation of $5 CAD or more, I'll send you an original Boumeries comic! I do all of the comics on paper with a brush pen (and not directly on the computer like some might think). There's a photo to show you what they look like (the text is missing on the photo, but all comics do have text) if you click the link.

I'm not asking for much — $5 is not a lot, but every little bit helps. I have almost 200 strips to give away like that. If you want one in particular, be sure to mention its title in the special instructions when donating. Oh, and don't forget to give me your address so that I can send the comic your way!

The other way you could encourage me is by buying the Boumeries book. I've put a lot of time and money in this, it's truly a labour of love.

Hoy! It's been a while since I updated this thing! Hi y'all, I'm still alive and well (and busy). I'm sorry for my inactivity here, I've just been working and doing comics recently, and not drawing as much as I want to.

My comics are doing well, and that's my reason for the update today — I'll be at the Montreal Comiccon next weekend (September 17th and 18th) selling copies of the newly released Boumeries book! It's available in English and French, 87 pages, B&W, with exclusive comics, for the low cost of $10. I'll be at table A28, and you'll be able to find some originals as well. Drop by!



For those who can't make it but will still be in Montreal the week after, I'm doing a book launch where I'll be selling the book as well. It's on September 21st from 5PM to 7PM at the Benelux Brasserie Artisanale (245 Sherbrooke West). The Facebook event is HERE.

Hi, folks! I'm always shy to ask this kind of thing, but I need your help right now. I've submitted a T-shirt design on a site called Chic Moustache where people vote for their favourites. The voting ends in five days, and my score is just under the 4.00 mark, which usually is the key to get the design printed.

Now, don't get scared because the site is in French, there's a very easy way to go around that even if you don't have a translating browser — the site allows you to connect with Facebook!
