Yet more homework for my Drawing class, this time we didn't have any subject in particular. I had a random urge to draw a little girl in a forest. I never draw backgrounds, so why not force myself to do some?
I was trying to achieve an old fairy tale kind of feeling, and while I was at it I thought I'd throw in some eerieness/gloominess to make it more interesting. I'm pretty proud of the result. It's so unlike me to draw backgrounds, and in traditional media, to boot...

The treeframe is very interesting, how it frames the image while the branches go into the picture but also the white. I, for one, want to know how and what the little girl thinks. Is this the first time she encountered death? What does she think?
